Unlimited Class Hillclimb Car – Wind Tunnel Development
The DJ Firestorm made its debut in mid 2009 to mark the first car by the company to run in the unlimited class of British Hillclimbing. Wallace Menzies, who had previously run with one of the company’s supercharged Firehawk’s, worked with the company to develop the car into a front runner throughout 2010.

Cosworth XD Engine Development
With the commissioning of a new unlimited class hillclimb car for 2009, DJ Engineering felt there was no suitable race engine in race-ready condition for use in their new project. The company therefore undertook the re-development of the Cosworth XD Champcar engine to better suit the specific requirements of their compact chassis design, requiring converting the unit to a high-revving gasoline, normally aspirated engine. <Read More...>
DJ were asked to assist in the build / prep of the 330d BMW used in the 24hr Britcar race in September ’07, we naturally jumped at the chance to help our favourite TV program out, and after a mammoth 21 hour shift involving Del, Nathan & Adam installing a DJ rear wing to the car and also working on other key aerodynamic aids we were asked back to help at the actual race (should prove to be interesting as being hill climbers we’re used to cars doing sub 60 second runs, about as far removed from 24hr endurance racing as you could imagine!) <Read More...>
